Ema
Production & Project coordinator
I’m like a whimsical creature and soul. I guess I would describe myself as an introverted extrovert. I like to find at least a little bit of fun in everything, and (bad and awkward) humor should be my middle name. At the same time, I can be melancholic and subdued, but the other pole tends to dominate my life.

How are you feeling at the moment?
Very overwhelmed. There’s a lot of nonsense going on right now. I’m tired of it, but I’m enjoying it at the same time. I’m looking forward to Christmas and “doing nothing” and watching cartoons.
Where do you look for inspiration in your life?
Films. Then I really like art books, where there are a lot of pictures. I think the books/magazines I enjoy the most are the ones with clothes. Different combinations of materials, colours, cuts – I enjoy that a lot.
Is there anything you’re hiding from others?
I’m the kind of person who likes to share almost everything with my loved ones, so it’s very hard for me to hide anything. I don’t know how to and I don’t think I want to.
Who or what does your heart beat for?
For humor, for people who get it, for a lot of things in general I guess. Right now, for yolo lif
What gave you strength when you needed it the most?
Family, nature, music.
What is the most precious thing in your life?
Health. It didn’t used to be, but it really is the most important thing. So let’s cherish it.
Is there anything that bothers you about today’s society?
It’s the humor again. Everybody’s so uptight and can’t really make fun of things, let alone themselves.
Do you consider Prague anonymous?
I kind of do. When I see how many people rush to the metro transfer in Florence every day, it makes me feel a bit sick. But at the same time, it’s really nice when you meet a friend on the tram. But I would definitely like to try living in a smaller city like Liberec sometime. I’d like that a lot.
What is the importance of art in public space?
Phew, I could write a term paper on that. Anyway, the first importance of art that I can think of is that this public art will be accessed by people who wouldn’t go to see it on purpose – to a theatre, gallery, etc. So it’s bringing art to absolutely everyone without exception. But that’s why it’s very important to think about what we are putting out there.
What is your role in the project and what does it entail?
I’ve been in the project for a year now – wow, what? I’m part of the production team and I primarily help with the preparation of events – I also organise them myself. Then I look for new collaborations and different opportunities and events to attend.
Best beer | A cold draft (I’ll drink almost anything) – ideally after a bike ride! |
Favourite venue | I like Přístav 18 600 in the summer, otherwise Souterrain or more recently the cafe at Atlas cinema are my kind of go-to places. |
Secret spot | A little place not too far from where I live. It’s not even very nice, but somehow it came to mind right now. I have more of them at my cottage, outside of Prague. |
Favourite cinema / theatre | The Atlas cinema I think, Světozor, they have banger movie posters there, I like the U Kamenného zvonu gallery or 8smičku in Humpolec! |
Favourite greenery | I like the bike path Krejcárek – Hlavák – it’s great for skating. |
