Annamarie

Founder & Creative director

I have been part of the project probably since the first time I opened my eyes. Fatality, together with anxiety about the lack of kindness in the world, has been a lifelong theme for me – fortunately, I am growing older, and I believe that what PRAHO! project does beautifully reflects how my own perception of the world is changing. I am beginning to believe that instead of grand, destiny-defining gestures, it is the small, almost intangible ones that are needed to transform it.

I founded this organization four years ago (really), and since then there has not been a single day when it was not part of me. For me, it represents hope. Hope in myself, in the values of the society I am part of, and in the belief that in the end, everything will turn out well.

Favorite testimony
I have two aquariums at home with a total of four fish. The oldest is Karel, the youngest is Čeněk. Then there are two females, Květa and Božena. The fifth fish – Bivoj – recently died. I love chocolate and fish in remoulade.

When do you feel truly “alive”?
After yoga, after laughter, after dancing at Vagón with those who are closest to me. After wandering through the mountains. In the embrace of the person I want to die with one day.

What remains within you, even when everything around you changes?
Little Annamarie, to whom I would never wish going through what she had to go through. We are finally beginning to truly love each other, and I am choosing paths that are sustainable for both of us.

What moves you the most?
Kindness towards strangers.

Where do you sense a connection between yourself and others?
On countless levels. We are all human. It is one of the fundamental reasons why PRAHO! project exists.

What would you want changing in the world?
I wish we had greater understanding for one another. That we would not divide ourselves into opposing camps. That we would care about each other and act accordingly.
